FULL: The Tragedies and Trends that Shaped the City of Spring Hill In-Person

The event is full (overfull, actually) but can be viewed on the Library's Facebook page (Live and Later!) and will be repeated.

Did you know Spring Hill used to be Chickasaw land? It was the first town in Maury Co. to be founded after a treaty made with the Chickasaw in1806 and it's been reinvented many times over since then. Tom Price from Maury County Archives will share pictures and stories of what Spring Hill was like from the beginning, including when downtown was a thriving business community. You won't believe how Main Street used to look. Find out what tragedies changed all that. Hear how churches and schools have always played a major role in Spring Hill's culture. Tom will also chart the population growth, including the influx of Saturn workers to today.   You'll have a new appreciation for a city that has revived itself many times over. Refreshments will be served.  Please register for head count.   Presented by the Spring Hill Historic Society and the Spring Hill Public Library.
